Since we were away this weekend, I forgot to get my weekly
Fresh Direct order in on time for a Monday delivery. I had planned to place the order from my phone on the car ride back but completely forgot. I have been so spoiled by Fresh Direct. I started using them when we lived in Hoboken and our market was about 3 blocks away. If I had to purchase anything heavy, like multiple 2 liter bottles of seltzer or a week's worth of groceries, it made for a very arduous walk home, oftentimes with bags splitting open on the sidewalk. That's when I discovered Fresh Direct where I could order my groceries online and they would miraculously appear at my door the very next day... by the nicest drivers by the way! I fell in love with their service immediately! At the time, the delivery charge was around $5 and I figured that if I was in an actual supermarket, I would spend $5 on something that wasn't on my list, especially if I went shopping on an empty stomach. That's how I justified the delivery fee. When we moved to the burbs, I was so sad to learn that Fresh Direct did not deliver this far out into New Jersey; but towards the end of my pregnancy, when I
really didn't feel like grocery shopping and lifting anything heavy, Fresh Direct service became available in our neighborhood! It was a miracle! I was so excited because I knew it would come in handy with a newborn at home. I was a crazy first time mommy who would not let her baby out in public for the first three months of her life so being able to have our groceries delivered was really helpful. Let me add that this is NOT a sponsored post... I genuinely love Fresh Direct.
Anyway, since I forgot to get my order placed on time, I had to make an actual trip to the grocery store on Monday. I know... poor me. We pulled into our parking space and I immediately spotted the coolest shopping cart ever. I knew this was going to be a fun shopping trip... at least for Sadie. She was beyond excited when she realized she was going to be able to ride in this car while I shopped. After an hour in the store, she did not want to leave. The first thing she asked for this morning was to "ride car in shopping cart".

My kids loved those carts, too! Only problem -- smaller carriages and I couldn't buy as many groceries!
ReplyDeleteWe did Pea Pod (from Stop & Shop) for awhile. I think I might have to go back to that -- I don't mind someone delivering my groceries, either!

It has been a few days and my daughter is still talking about this shopping cart!
